Professional Reference Back home

As a high school classmate and professional colleague, I gladly write this recommendation in support of Vernell as she embarks on this new endeavor.

After high school, Ms. Dees and I went off to separate colleges but ended up working together  when I became principal of the school where she was teaching.

We ended up working together for the next ten years and she was one of the best teachers I had on staff.  Vernell truly puts children and their families first. She would do whatever she had to do to make sure her students received the best possible education she could provide.

Ms. Dees was also task oriented. When she was given an assignment or saw something that needed to be done, you did not have to worry about her seeing it through to completion.  She was self-motivated as well as being able to work with a team.

Vernell was also community minded and never hesitated to write a letter or make a call to voice her opinion regarding anything she viewed as unfair.  She did not just talk about problems she saw or experienced, she let the powers that be know of her concern.
I always admired that about her, she always appeared quiet and mild mannered, but if she saw injustice being done to anyone, she took action.

Sincerely,

Kathy Franklin

Professional Reference

In more than 34 years as an educator, Vernell stands out as one of the most conscientious teachers I worked with. She consistently demonstrated professionalism, dependability, and competence in her work, and made my job of supervision easier. She was an asset until the day she retired, and I give her my highest recommendation in her future endeavors.
